My Art Needs Me!

“My art needs me!” One of the best quotes I ever heard from my friend Gwen while sitting in a fashion design pattern making class at Moore College of Art and Design.

That was 10 years ago…and over this past week, my art needed me…a lot!  A craft show, a silk screening workshop and a field trip to the Philadelphia Free library.  Get ready for the deets in the next few posts.

First up, a week-long, 30 plus hour, screen printing workshop…Great class and a great teacher.   I was so involved with the class work and home work that I did not make time to blog.  Welcome to Fleisher’s Art Memorial in South Philadelphia.

And the inside is even cooler…it was a nice little journey through the chapel (under renovation) on my way to the studio.

This was painted on a door! See below.

And, finally, the class room where I spent over 20 hours last week learning and fine tuning my printmaking techniques.

My prints in progress…handbags forthcoming.

End of the week review.

Check Fleisher’s out…they may be on the road in a city near you!
